Olly has worked in field archaeology for 17 years. He grew up in Hampshire and initially became interested in archaeology when he volunteered on a dig. He attended the University of Winchester to study archaeological practice and went to work for Wessex Archaeology as a site assistant working on excavations across the country. While at Wessex Olly was able to work on projects in Nigeria and Rome, Italy, and was lucky enough to excavate at Stonehenge. In 2014 Olly moved to Cotswold Archaeology where he would eventually move into project management. He joined Wessex again in 2021, where he was responsible for winning and managing fieldwork projects across the south of England.
Olly is excited to join Ecus and grow our archaeology services across our offices in the south. He intends to grow our client base, bring in work, and grow our archaeology teams, and he’s eager to tackle the challenge.
Outside of work, Olly is a family man with a young son and another child on the way. He also remains active on his bike or in the gym, and like all of us at Ecus, he enjoys getting outside and enjoying nature.
